Hi there! I am conducting a study on anime fan practices as part of my Master's thesis, and halcyonjazz gave me permission to post both the letter of consent and the questionnaire here. The questionnaire pertains directly to anime fandom and asks open-ended questions about creativity, criticism, and culture. I wanted to ask this community for their opinions for a variety of reasons. First, it's a huge community where there must be a big diversity of opinion; second, Bleach is huge in Canada (where I live and study) and always has a good showing at Anime North, and third, I was curious about how fans of the show incorporated aspects of Japanese culture into their stories -- i.e., does writing a story set in the Rukon District require that someone know about traditional Japanese architecture? Summary: Izuru had long decided he wouldn't involve himself in anything to do with gossiping. So he didn't.
